Golf at Westerham

Westerham is set in mature woodland with stunning views across the North Downs. Tree lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers and three beautiful water features makes this course a solid test for any standard of golfer.

Born out of the great storm of 1987, which created an ideal site for this golf course, Westerham was opened in May 1997. The course encompasses established forestry producing the impression of a course mature beyond it years. The 6,270 yards, par 72 course has been built to a very high standard, with USGA specification greens and irrigation installed throughout which allows greens to be played 12 months of the year, and the course to be kept in continuously outstanding condition.

This course will not scare you for distance but with its exceptional design and maturity it has gained its reputation as a 'thinking man's course'. Lasting memories of the course will more than likely revolve around the 'eye of the storm' par 3 11th, a hole where not a single tree had to be felled; a long iron with daunting pine trees and bunkers protecting a small green certainly makes it a hole not for the faint of heart. With its closing hole bringing you back to a grandstand finish in front of the Clubhouse where the pressure is on to clear the devilishly positioned 18th lake, any golfer cannot help but get that tingling feeling in their stomach; it certainly provides a fitting and exhilarating end to an exceptional golf course.

In addition to the magnificent course, Westerham also offers a 10-acre driving range, putting green, indoor teaching area and an 8 acre short game area which has been described as 'one of the best in the South East'.
